I have just returned from a couple of days in Croatia where I had a good look at the hotel we are using next month and also visited some of the places we shall be going to.
The hotel, Grand Hotel - 4 opatijska cvijeta (4 flowers), is made up of 4 seperate buildings all named after local flowers. The rooms are good with everything you expect from a 4 star hotel and the breakfast and dinner spreads are fantastic, especially as the restaurant overlooks the Adriatic sea. The indoor/oudoor swimming pool is lovely with lots of loungers to enjoy the sun.
There are lots of lovely walks and gardens as well as many bars, restaurants and cafes.I can't wait to go back in May.
We have a weekend to Bruges departing tomorrow and there has been a bit of a panic as we are crossing the channel by ferry to Calais which has been blocked by the French fishermen. Thankfully their action has been called off and we can rest easy tonight.
