Another glorious day with the sun shining brightly and clear blue skies.
Breakfast is very busy in the hotel and there is lovely spread of hot and cold food to enjoy.
The group all meet at the coach for 09:00 with the anticipation of a good day in the air. Our guide is also waiting. Her name is Ingrid and she will be taking us on a 2 hour coach tour of Amsterdam.
We are away on time and it quickly apparent that Ingrid really does know her stuff. I have been to Amsterdam many times but learn more in these two hours than I ever have before. The traffic is very light again so that has helped in that we can do very much as we please.
Having a sunny day is always a bonus and makes everything look great.
We came into the centre via a tree lined avenue alongside the Amstel river and even had time to stop at a windmill for pictures!
The tour went very well and if by any small chance that Ingrid is reading this - Thank You very much from the whole group.
We finished the tour on the Damrak where the group then went on a canal cruise for an hour.
I said goodbye to Ingrid and went off in search of a parking place.
There is a coach park very close to the centre but it does fill up quickly and today it had filled quickly! I waited a while to see if any of the parked coaches were leaving but is was to no avail.
After a frustrating drive around I found somewhere to park but as it was not an official parking area I was loathe to leave the coach.
I arranged to pick the group up from the Damrak at 16:00 and drove round a little early to be ready to leave on time. I had said to the group that I would leave at four and if anybody wasn't there I would presume they made their own way back to the hotel, which is not difficult to do.
We leave with four people short so I hope they are back, I will find out at dinner!
