Saturday 17th October Open Day!

We launch our new summer holiday brochure today at the Herne Farm Leisure Centre. It is the first time we have held our open day outside of the office and I'm a little nervous to see how many people turn up.
We have outgrown the office and I hope the hiring of this hall will prove a good move.
Originally we were going to set the show up last night (Friday) but the hall have taken a booking so we can't get in until 07:45 this morning.
We are opening the doors at 09:30.
Yesterday in the office myself, Wendy and Brian put photographs and information on the presentation boards we had borrowed from Daisy's school, Petersfield Infant School, and will hopefully transport them without too much falling off!
With our two cars, my mums and Michelle's full up with boards, brochures and people we arrive at the leisure centre at 08:45 and immediately start to set things up.
We can use the tables and chairs from the hall as well as the kitchen facilities.
Between us we manage to set everything up in time and are ready for the rush!?
There are people waiting outside by 08:30 so things are looking good!
For the record we have Wendy, Michelle and Iris (mum) taking bookings, Yvonne and Lisa making coffee (with the help of Daisy!), Brian, Ray, myself, Ian and Tina (from Albatross) standing about answering questions and looking busy and also Hollie and Sophie crossing names off the mailing list. David Weeks turned up in all his finery to welcome people and make them feel welcome.
We normally have a bit of a rush for the first hour and a half and then it quietens down. Today was very different with us being busy for the best part of four hours!
Having a larger venue certainly helped with people staying longer and enjoying refreshments at the tables we had laid out, something we couldn't do in the office.
It has been a great day and the time has flown past with many bookings being taken and old friends met.
After clearing and cleaning the hall we retire to the Folly Wine Bar for a couple of drinks before everyone goes there own way.
A very successful day and I would like to thank all of the people who helped and also all of the customers who turned up to support Greys after what has been a difficult year.
