We enjoy a good breakfast before leaving the hotel at 08:30. We are due to meet our guide this morning at 09:00 by the Arc de Triomphe.
Arriving ten minutes early our guide, Geraldine (call me Gerry), is waiting. Sometimes it is hard to understand the foreign accent of guides but we have no such problems today as Gerry is from East Anglia and has spent a lot of time in the Midlands!
We see all of the monuments and again there is very little traffic to hold us back as we finish the tour before 11:00! A full hour early and good money for Gerry as I paid £160 for her services!
I am actually pleased we have finished early as it allows more time at leisure to explore this wonderful city.
Some of the group have expressed an interest in going on a boat trip so we duly oblige by taking 28 passengers for a 75 minute boat trip on the seine. We have a few heavy showers so being on an enclosed boat is not a bad place to be at the moment.
Once they have all enjoyed their trip on the Seine we take them back to Concorde Square, where we dropped the others off, and say we shall be back at 17:00 if they want a lift back to the hotel.
Twelve of the group want to visit the Eifel Tower so we take them to the tower and manage to park there as well.
Brian and I go off for a walk and some lunch (low calerie omelettes and chips!) and then return to the coach.
I have been to the Eifel Tower on many occasions and yet am always amazed at the sight of it. It is magnificent.
Eight of the passengers go all the way to the top (something I bottled out on when at the second stage last year!) and the others reach the second stage. I am really pleased for them as it is a few ambitions fulfilled and that is a lovely feeling.
We pick most of the passengers up at five and take them back to the hotel where they have a free evening to find a nice restaurant for their dinner.
Brian and I meet up at seven and go off in search of food! Next door to the hotel is an Indian restaurant that we have our eye on but decide to check out the other half dozen or so restaurants that are nearby.
We end up back at the Indian restaurant mainly because all the other restaurants (bar a Japenese) are shut! On a Saturday night as well!
I am glad we came here as we have a lovely evening and a good meal.
Back at the hotel those who decided to eat in the hotel have not had such a good evening with the service and have all experienced slow service, wrong orders and incorrect bills! Am glad we went next door!
Oh, by the way, Chelsea beat Blackburn 5-0 today! Bon Soir!

Its good to hear that some of the group managed to make it to the top of the Eiffel Tower, its something i would like to do one day but alas on the one occasion i was anywhere near the tower the queue seemed endless and we only had limited time - may be one day i'll get there but 'good on you' all of those that took the plunge and made their way to the very top.
You do live a life of luxury - seems to be food - beer - food - beer!!!!!!!!!!!
