Off to Germany today and the pretty area known as the Black Forest.
Our overnight is in Liege which is only 3 hours from Calais so a slightly later start this morning - 06:00!!
Brian and Ray are off to Sluis in Holland for the day and I see them picking up on my way to the yard. They are crossing the channel on the 09:48 shuttle and I'm on the 10:25 ferry.
My pick-ups go well and I'm soon driving down a wet motorway towards Dover which we reach, after a short stop at Clackett Lane services, at 09:30. It seems very busy here with a lot of congestion trying to reach the ticket booth. I later realised this was due to a lot of building work going on on the quayside.
On the way down to Dover I am overtaken by Peter Fenn in his lovely big blue bus! I follow him all the way to Dover as we are bookied on the same ferry.
We depart on time (unusual) as I receive a text from Ray to say they are still sat on a train that hasn't moved yet from Folkestone! They should be driving down an autoroute by now!
The drivers room was busy but I manage to share a table with Peter and enjoy a fatboys breakfast and a chat for the whole journey. Margaret, his wife, joins us later and it is a pleasure to meet them.
If, on the extremely slight chance, Catherine is reading this - CONGRATULATIONS!!
We drive out of Calais (probably still ahead of Brian and Ray!) and stop at a service area just north of Brussels.
The next part is only an hour away and as I'm driving down the motorway from Brussels I can see a Parry's coach looming large in my mirror so I slow a little to let him pass and to see who it is driving and it is a friend of mine, Nigel. It is always a nice feeling when you see people you know on the road.
We arrive at our overnight hotel, the Post Hotel Liege, just after 17:00 and have a couple of hours to relax before dinner.
This hotel is way out of the city but I think it makes a good overnight stop as the rooms are big, there is a nice lounge/bar area, the foods ok and I can park the coach outside.
Am very tired tonight so an early night is called for.

Good to have you back on the Blog, its always nice to hear how you are getting on, and the adventures that you have. Shame you Peter and Nigel weren't all heading for the same overnight stop you could have had a couple of beers and a good old natter - maybe another time!!!!!
The Black forest area is a stunning part of Germany. It will be a great trip
