Up at 03:00 for my tour to Italy!
I have three pick ups today in Petersfield, Liphook and
Guildford and I’m away from Guildford by 06:30.
We have a short comfort stop at Clackett
Lane before reaching Folkestone by 08:25 for our 09:20 shuttle. This allows us
25 minutes in the terminal before boarding the train.
Am a little tired driving to Folkestone and enjoy a 30
minute kip on the train! The advantage of spare seats!
We have 28 passengers on board which should have been 30
but sadly one couple had to cancel last week due to health problems.
We stop for lunch at a very warm and sunny service area
near Brussels before continuing our journey through Belgium and into Luxembourg
where it is now raining very hard!
A 20 minute stop sees me fill up with cheaper fuel and
the passengers get to go to the loo for free!
It is not only raining outside but also inside over the
rear seats! There must be a leak somewhere and the water is coming in!
Our overnight hotel tonight is the comfortable Victor’s
Residenz in Saarluis, Germany. We arrive at a still very wet Saarluis at 18:00
and I book dinner for 19:30.
Dinner is a small buffet which at least gives everyone a
choice but I have a slight problem when the last few people go up and the veg
has all gone!! The staff promise to cook some more and we should have the extra
in a couple of minutes. Some are not too happy but I’ve had enough for today
and go off to bed.
