Before we depart I check with reception about keys and
bills and then go to use the toilet. The loos are very smart, clean and very
welcoming. Well as welcoming as loos can be and I suppose they are always
welcoming!?
These are very posh and I feel embarrassed about blowing
off!!
After a good breakfast we are away at 08:00 but don’t
reach the motorway until 25 minutes later! I am following the dreaded sat nav
and it seems to be taking me the long way round! I can’t really argue with it
as I don’t know Saarbrucken that well but at the last junction we come to It
tries to send me right to the motorway when I recognise where I am and the
motorway is a couple of hundred yards to my left!! I turn left and switch the
sat nav off.
I originally wanted to arrive in Calais at 14:30 but it
will be 15;00 now which isn’t a problem as we are booked on the 16:20 shuttle.
We have a comfort and fuel stop at Verdun services and
then a longer lunch stop at D’Urvillers services which is two hours from
Calais.
Calais is quiet which allows us nearly half an hour in
the terminal before our shuttle which in the end leaves ten minutes late!
A stop on the M25 is our last before dropping the passengers
home and also gives me the chance to take a group photo.
I have really enjoyed this tour even though it was a bit
of a challenge at the beginning. I love Riva and Lake Garda and the hotel lived
up to all expectations and as most people said to me I would like to stay
longer!
Ciao!

A great big thank you to Jamie for a brilliant holiday. As always everything was top notch and certainly a destination that we would highly recommend to others and hope to return to ourselves another year. I don't think it would be possible to find any faults at all it was just a truely lovely place. Many thanks again.
Jamie, thank you for a lovely trip to Lake Garda. Lovely hotel, excellent food and a great selection of trips out.
