Austria Fairytale Castles Monday 15 July 2013

I have added an excursion as we can do The Zugspitze Mountain Cable Car and Oberammergau on the same day and I don’t think there is quite enough in Lermoos for another free day there.
So today we are going to Innsbruck and it promises to be another scorcher.
We leave at 09:00 and drive over the Fern Pass, which is already very busy, and then the last bit by motorway. The drive into Innsbruck is surprisingly quiet of traffic as I pull into the coach park at 10:20, pay my €30 parking and then walk the group to the old town.
Most of us sit down at the same cafe for a coffee and Barry and Jayne sit at one table while I sit at the one next to them only to be told by the waitress that I must sit with them if I am with them! That told me!
I have a stroll around the shops and buy a couple of presents as well as finding a bookshop that sells English language books, a whole section of them. Fantastic, I buy two books and walk back to the bus a happy bunny.
I also bought myself a couple of rolls to have for my lunch.
It is extremely hot in the sun trap of a coach park and I try to do some work on the coach but have to give in to the heat in the end, it is just too hot.
I have walked around the coach park looking for a tap but can’t see one so it was a bit of a surprise to see a Shearings driver topping up his water from a well hidden tap! As soon as he has finished I stroll over with my drinks water container and have to lift and hold it up against the very powerful flow of water. It doesn’t take long to fill up but then I have a problem in that I need two hands to hold and lower the now very heavy container and another to turn off the tap! In the end I decide to quickly lower the container and then turn the tap off even quicker. No chance! I end up soaked which is both refreshing and a bit embarrassing as the whole coach are watching me with great amusement.
We leave here at 14:00 and are back at the hotel by 15:30 after a day that everyone seems to have enjoyed.
I am tired today so spend the rest of the afternoon having a siesta.
Dinner is served between 18:00 and 20:00 and you can come down individually between these times which is a good idea I wish few more hotels would try. I sit with Barry and Jayne and we usually eat at about 19:00. The food is very good here with an excellent choice to suit everybody.

We have a quick drink outside after dinner and then it is time for bed. What a hectic life I lead!!
