Am up at 05:30 feeling completely knackered! I have a
quick breakfast at 06:30 before the car park man picks me up at 07:00 to
collect the bus. I am parked outside the main entrance by 07:30 having made the
horrible turn easily with no cars about.
The young porter has all the cases down and it is not
long before everything is loaded and we are ready to roll.
We are away by 08:00 and within half an hour I’m waiting
at the Croatian border for the police to check our passports and then raise the
barrier. They make me wait about ten minutes and then we are waved through
without showing passports. If we came tomorrow we should drive straight through
as Croatia will be a member of the EU.
We have a forty minute drive through the countryside of
Slovenia before rejoining the motorway.
I filled up the drinks water from a tap in Rovinj that
said drinking water but it tastes horrible! It has a very strong taste of
something similar to chlorine and I can’t drink it so will have to change it
when we stop.
We have a comfort stop in Slovenia before carrying on
into Austria and stopping for lunch at a lovely service area where I am able to
empty the water, rinse out the container and then refill with better tasting
water.
The idea today is to arrive in Fuschl early so people can
enjoy the village and lake.
I am here at 14:30 and all of the rooms are ready. It is
also a lovely afternoon so we can all relax before tomorrow’s long drive
through Germany.
I park the coach about ten minutes away from the hotel
and after cleaning the windscreen am about to walk back when the hotel mini
turns up to take me back. Service!
I am extremely tired and sleep for 2½ hours.
Dinner is busier than the way down with lots of other
people staying here and we enjoy a Gala dinner. It is all very nice but not
sure what the Gala bit was all about!
After dinner I stroll down to the coach to pick up the
laptop I forgot earlier and then return to my lovely room for a good, and
quiet, night’s sleep.
