Disneyland Paris Sunday 11 August 2013

Sunday 11 August 2013
We go for breakfast at 09:00 and meet Richard on the way who tells me they have been told their breakfast is in another room away from the restaurant and all of our room numbers have a blue line through so the waiter knows we are in a group and are not allowed in the restaurant! I am not happy, not happy at all!
I speak with a young man at reception, Etienne, and ask waht is going on. There is still a sign up saying Albatross with Greys Coach Travel nowhere to be seen.
I show Etienne my voucher which clearly states all meals in main restaurant on tables of 2, 4 and 6 but the hotel have completely ignored this. I call Marcy again and explain what is happening and she is furious as she spoke and sent an e-mail to the hotel yesterday and was assured everything would be okay today.
We ask Etienne for the managers name but he says there is no manager in today so we ask for the person in charges’ name and I’m told there is nobody in charge! Incredible! Marcy promises to go higher up to find out what is happening and will call me back.
We go to the restaurant and give our room number and the waiter starts to show me to the other room. No chance I say I am eating in here! Another lady appears with a copy of my voucher and explains to the waiter the problem as we go and find a table.

Why are the French so awkward and difficult to deal with?
We use Novotels a lot for overnight stops and the difference between German and French service is astonishing. The food, service and prices are so much better away from France that it makes you wish that Disney had built their park in another country.
We leave at 10:00 o’clock arriving at Disney at 10:15 and it is noticeably busier than yesterday.
The passengers go off for another day of fun with the coach returning to the hotel at 19:00.
We spend the day in the Disney Studios and watch the stunt show and Mickey Mouse’s Playhouse. For the Mickey Mouse show you all have to sit on the floor which at my age is a tad uncomfortable and something I haven’t done for a few years! It is a struggle getting up! I must start exercising more!
It is very busy here and not as enjoyable as yesterday but great fun nonetheless. We go on a few rides with the best probably the Studio Tram Ride. In the Toy Story area we queue twenty minutes for the Slinky Dog ride. Once on the ride it goes around in a circle a couple of times and that’s it! Must have lasted less than a minute. What a waste of time!
I go back to the coach before six with Daisy who has had enough and is tired and Dot, who has had enough and is even tireder!!
We are soon joined by everyone else and are away before 19:00 for the short journey back.

We decide to eat in the hotel so after a quick freshen up we join Richard, Sarah, Bethany and Megan for dinner sat outside the hotel by the swimming pool. It is a lovely evening as we have a couple of drinks and some nice food. I ordered a burger but it came covered in raw onions (which I can’t eat) so swapped with Dot and had her very nice toasted sandwich and chips. It was lovely seeing all the children getting on and even Daisy joined in the fun.
