Sunday 08 August Oberammergau apassion Play

A nice gentle morning as we are away from the hotels at 10:00 for the short journey to Oberammergau and the highlight of the tour, the Pasasion Play.
I drop off in one of the coach parks and am outside helping the passengers off with my engine still running. The German driver in the coach next to me takes offence at this and starts waving his hands and shouting. I try to explain that I will be gone in a minute but he keeps on.
I know in Germany they are very hot on coaches sitting with their engines running and I am all for this. I don't like being parked next to a coach which is constantly running.
I have 13 passengers to help off and then I am on my way back to the hotel, I will be all of 5 minutes at the most!
Back at the hotel I sit outside and begin to write next summers brochure, something I have fallen behind on.
I decide to have lunch in the hotel and order a schnitel with boiled potatoes, nothing too heavy. My schnitzel appears, or rather both schnitzels appear, along with a plate full of potatoes. I'll never eat all of this. I do!! What a porker!
Afterwards I decide to go for a walk but do not get too far as it is about to rain. Back in my room I can hear the distant thunder and stand on the balcony watching as the thunder and lightening become louder and closer, the trees start swaying in the strong wind that has got up, and then the torrential rain appears. Forty minutes later the sun is out!
At about 20:00 I drive back to Oberammergau to wait for the passengers. The Passion Play is due to finish at 22:30.
I park next to the grumpy German.
Oberammergau is a lovely town and I go for a walk even though it is now raining, something I regret on the way back to the coach when a car speeds along and splashes me soaking my trousers. I am not impressed.
The people start coming back to the coach after 23:00 and some of the coaches have started up their engines. I am not going to start mine until old grumpy starts his. Childish I know but got to be done. He eventually starts his coach and I glare at him but he won't look at me and keeps his back to me. I then start up feeling like I have won some kind of battle of wills!! I know, still childish but it made me smile!
A couple of the group get a little lost on their way back to the coach and we are one of the last to leave but as we are staying so nearby this is not a problem.
Every single person said that the Passion Play was fantastic and an experience not to be missed.

Sounds fun - I wonder if that German driver put a bollard out for his coach space like they do with the towels on the sunbeds!!!!
Did you fall asleep when writing this - I think you dropped off at the end!!!!
