Cesky Krumlov Saturday 16 July 2011

Went down to the coach before breakfast and saw that I had hit one of the concrete flowerpots while reversing out last night and have scratched the paintwork at the back corner. Gutted.
Very sunny once again as we set off towards Nuremburg and then into the Czech Republic later today.
The motorway is very busy and at one point pass a police car with all of his lights flashing reversing slowly up the hard shoulder. This can only mean an accident up ahead.
The sat nav is sending me off the motorway and after the success it had through Rotterdam a couple of months ago I follow it.
Fifteen minutes later we rejoin the motorway a couple of junctions down and have lost only six minutes. I don't understand how but it has worked again today.
At our first stop I top up with fuel and water to save me a job when we arrive in Cesky Krumlov. Our first day is free from the coach and the second day is to Prague and as I park the coach a long way from the hotel I didn't want to be messing about and losing time on the long journey to the Czech capital.
Lunch is also taken on the motorway and while the service area is very busy the restaurant was surprisingly quiet.
I am not sure which way to go (there are three choices) and decide to follow the sat nav's instructions which has me leaving the motorway (the A3!) at junction 114 and continuing across country.
This works out well and after a short stop at the border we arrive in Cesky Krumlov at 18:45 after a very scenic drive through the hills and meadows of both Germany and Czech Republic.
Fifteen minutes from our destination I call the hotel with my arrival time so we can be met by a minibus that will transport luggage and folk.
Nothing arrives and it soon becomes obvious that I am waiting in the wrong place! The minibus man is not impressed as he beckons me to follow him the two minutes to the correct place.
He has got the hump and is moody with me which I really don't need after two long days.
He takes all of the luggage and four people saying he will be back. Seven of the passengers then walk leaving nine to be picked up by Mr Happy.
To give him his due he did apologise for being stressed when he returned so no problems there.
I park the coach not too far away and closer to the centre than I thought I would be.
It is only a ten minute walk back to the hotel.
There was a bit of confusion over dinner as the receptionist wanted to speak with the tour leader (me) but I was busy parking the bus and couldn't reach the hotel until after everyone else. I think a unanimous decision was reached for 20:00 and that seemed to suit us all fine.
Dinner was ok and afterwards I had a walk around this beautiful place which was very lively tonight but felt too tired to enjoy it! So I went to bed. Exciting eh!!
