Once again we are away at 08:00 after a super breakfast and on our way home.
I decide to go via Antwerp rather than Brussels which is about 2 miles longer! It is the route I always used to take and I find it a more comfortable drive than going Brussels way. Not sure why that is but there you go!
We stop on the motorway after Antwerp and arrive in Calais before 14:00 allowing plenty of time before our 15:20 shuttle.
We end up on the 14:50 which is normally great but can’t be too early in Guildford as the taxi’s won’t be there!
In the end I am finished in the yard by 18:00.
I have really enjoyed this tour and I think I can speak for everyone when I say it has all gone well and we have all had a great time.
Croatia is a fantastic country to visit and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The hotel we use is excellent, the excursions all a little different and enjoyable and our resort has everything you want.
Add to this the relatively cheap cost of living, a pint is only £1.67!!, then you have the makings of a great holiday.
The places we visit are not as crowded as some countries and the weather is lovely and warm, hot even!
I know the two overnight stops each way do put people off but if you treat the journey as part of the holiday then it is easy and not as tiring as you may imagine and we hope to be very relaxed by the time we reach Croatia.
The first two and last two days are fairly long but only as long as any of our Austrian holidays. The third day on the outward journey and the first day on the return are more like excursions as we only drive for about 4½ hours a day and come off the motorway for our stops.
On the way down we spent a very pleasant couple of hours at beautiful Lake Bled and on the return drove over the magnificent Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
We hope to return to Croatia in 2013 and I can’t wait to go back and would love it if we could take a few more people next time.

This was my second time to Opatija and i enjoyed it just as much this time as i did on the first, beautiful scenery, excellent hotel, gorgeous food and briliant days out what more could a girl want? Id highly recommend going if Jamie returns next year, I know I will, just remember to pack a fan - its was blooming hot both times ive been so im assuming that must be the norm.
Well done Jamie for another fantastic trip and can i put my name down for 2013 now?!!!!!!
