Friday 17/Saturday 18 February
We leave the hotel at 07:45 and take the group to Alpendorf and drop them off. We have a whining sound on the coach so decide to go back to the garage for them to have a listen to it.
They don’t seem concerned but it appears odd to me that the noise started after the repair. The coach is driving well so if they think it is okay that is good enough for me.
We stop and fuel up on the way back to the hotel at the same time as a Blakes coach from Devon. I put together an itinerary for their proposed Russia tour a couple of years back so went over to ask if they went ahead with it.
They didn’t but the driver seemed to recognise me although he said my hair was a lot shorter, greyer and I was a little fatter!
He used to drive for Hookways and I met him in Portugal many years ago, when I was slimmer with long hair!
By the time we return to the hotel it is snowing again as we clean the coach the best we can before spending the afternoon in our rooms relaxing. I have had to change rooms but that is no problem.
We begin our journey home at 21;00 and have a trouble free drive through to Calais and our ferry back to Dover.
We are relieved to see Roger in Dover who will take the coach home while Wendy, who brought Roger down, will take Brian and I home.
