Calthorpe Park ski Italy Thursday 04 April 2013

Last morning’s ski-ing for me today as I don’t ski on the last day in case of injury!

Another great morning ski-ing with Tommy and Paul. Halfway through the morning Paul went off to fetch Jo and Immy while Tommy and I did a couple of runs at the top of the mountain before deciding it was time for a beer. Well it had been a hard morning and it is now 10:15!! Sitting in the sun at the top of a mountain sipping beer after a good ski is one of life’s pleasures!
Too much lunch again fills me up before I go downstairs to the bar area to try and connect to the internet (not easy here!). I want to try and buy a couple of tickets for the Chelsea FA Cup semi final against Manchester City at Wembley a week on Sunday.
I’m put in a virtual waiting room and after 20 minutes have the chance to buy a couple of tickets, which I do. Fantastic we are off to Wembley.
I end up working all afternoon and manage to complete most of the brochure today.

Paul and I go for a walk at 18:00 to try and locate a couple of hard to find older lads! Well that is the excuse! We pop in the Magic Bar which is jam packed with mostly Belgians from our hotel and is very loud and noisy, a typical après ski bar. No kids here so best we try the bar two doors down!
La Botte is much quieter and a lovely bar. No kids again but best stay for a drink, rude not to!
We both have a beer and the very pretty barmaid asks us to sit down and she will bring the drinks over. This she does along with a tray full of salami, ham, bread, all varieties of crisps , peanuts, olives and sun dryed tomatoes! We feel guilty leaving after a pint! The great thing also is that the Chelsea game is on the television here later so will have to come back!

This we do arriving at 21:00 for the 21:05 kick off. We have brought some of the older lads with us to see the game between Chelsea and Rubin Kazan, a Russian team. Tommy is pleased because on the other tele is the Tottenham v Basle game.
Paul and the boys go back to the hotel at half time while Tommy and I stay and sat together are able to see both screens so we can see our teams and have a chat and drink together. Fantastic!
Chelsea win 3-1 and Spurs draw 2-2 so a decent night for both of us.
