Friday 12th June 2009 Jersey

Another early start! I am up at 02:45 as I have a car pick-up in Farnborough and Farnham and then to Petersfield for our coach to Jersey.
Brian is driving the coach to Weymouth where we board our ferry as foot passengers for the 3 1/2 hour crossing to Jersey. Our departure time is 08:30 and we arrive by 07:30.
It is not too far to walk from coach to boat but some of the group find it a bit hard going.
There is a little confusion when we first board as we all have seat numbers and some people do not have seats with their companions. It is all sorted soon enough though.
The crossing is ok except for a little swaying which these fast ferries always seem to do and there are a few chunderers about! We all seem ok.
On arrival in Jersey we are met by Colin, a representative of the local travel company, and he shows where we catch our coach to the hotel.
We are in our hotel before 13:00 and all but 5 rooms are ready, the others should be ready soon.
I go for a walk into town and am surprised at the size of St Helier and the amount of people that are about, it is not as I expected.
The dinner tonight was very good indeed.
