Sat 13th June 2009 Island Tour

Another glorious day beckons as we all wait to go on our island tour.

The coach arrives at 09:30 and Trevor, our driver, introduces himself and his coach which he says is the newest on the island at 13 years old!

Our first stop is at Jersey Pearl and soon things take a turn for the worse with one of our ladies, Joyce, collapsing.

One of the staff with medical training appears and calms everything down and within minutes the paramedics are here. She is soon taken off to hospital and we continue our tour with not the same enthusiasm as we started with.

As we are driving down a country lane (they are all country lanes!) Trevor stops outside a farm, gets out of the coach, goes up to a white box and puts in a pound and then takes out two bags of Jersey Royal potatoes for his tea! Back on the bus he continues with the tour!
We also drive past the back of Trevor's house and stop while he calls his dogs into the garden as well as his wife who waves and then we carry on! This makes everyone smile.

We have a stop at Corbiere Lighthouse for photographs of the most photographed place in Jersey!

We continue on our tour and stop for lunch in Greve de Lecq Bay at a nice restaurant overlooking the golden beach and sea.

We have another short stop at Brookwater Cafe in St Catherine's Bay where the ice cream is said to be the best in Jersey.

Around to the other side of the island for our last stop in Gorey, a very picturesque fishing village dominated by its castle overhead. This is more how I imagined Jersey to be.

We arrive back at our hotel by 16:45.

I walk to the hospital to see Joyce and she is still in the A & R department but in good spirits.
