The group are told to be ready at 10:00 this morning, I arrange with Trevor to pick us up at 09:30 and then forget to tell the group!
Trevor turns up at 09:30 and the passengers at 10:00!
Trevor never stops talking about the island, its history, characters and rules and regulations. He is very knowledgable and interesting and we learn a lot from him.
I have been sitting behind him and at times he has driven through gaps I wouldn't think a coach could get through until he informs us that the coach is a foot narrower than a conventional vehicle!
We have a stop at Jersey Gold for coffee and a look around and I call the hospital to check on Joyce to be told that she will be in for at least 5 days as she has had a mild heart attack.
We carry on with our tour and the next stop is at the beautiful Bouley Bay approached by a very steep hill with hairpin bends all the way down to the sea. There are a lot of divers here.
The little cafe here is called Mad Mary's run by mad Mary! The best coffee on the island is sold here!
Our lunch stop is at the Jersey Pottery which is a very nice place to visit with a good restaurant.
We are back at the hotel by 14:00 and say our goodbyes to Trevor who has been excellent.
This afternoon I go to the hospital with Audrey and Georgie. Instead of a taxi I walk them through the town which takes us a little time but shows them where the shops are. They are all shut today, well all except Waterstones. It is a very old fashioned feeling but I like the idea of having one day a week that is different.
We arrive at the hospital and Joyce is now on the ward and seems well. She is pleased of the company and it is nice to see her sitting up and chatty.
I leave the girls to it and wander back to the hotel via the seafront.
I am not eating with the group tonight as I have decided to go for a curry.
Brian is going away on tour today with Malcolm Harris to Caernarfon in Wales.
