Disneyland Paris Saturday 11 August 2012

Saturday 11 August

Breakfast for the groups in the hotel is supposed to be in a large breakfast room on the first floor but when I go down at 07:30 it is closed and we have to go to the restaurant. I later find out there has been an electrical fault so they couldn’t open the room.

Breakfast in the restaurant is very good, if a little crowded, and we all manage to sit together. Daisy seems to enjoy it as she wolfs down two plates of scrambled eggs and salami!

We are ten minutes late leaving at 08:40 and arrive at Disney at 09:00, plenty of time before it opens at 10:00. I wait at the ticket booth to pick my tickets up and it takes the man 30 minutes to serve me. I don’t know what he is doing as he has a voucher for the correct number of paid tickets and my waybill and driving licence for my ticket and it still takes half an hour.

We are parked up and ready to go as the park opens and I am a bit of a dilemma about what time to leave this evening. There is supposed to be a firework display at 22:30 after the parade at 22:00.

I decide to go back to the hotel at 20:00 for those that have had enough by then and then return to take the rest back at 23:00.

Again it is very hot as we enjoy a great day in the park. The children are in their element, as you would expect, and I think the parents feel like children again as there is a certain magic about the place.

I go on one fast ride, Space Mountain, with Carla, Ellie and Sophie and had forgotten how fast it actually is! I came off walking bandy! Space Mountain is a roller coaster in the dark and very cleverly done. I don’t think Carla will be returning for a second ride!

The kids all have a great day but by teatime Daisy has had enough and lets us know in her own way! I take her back to the coach via the Disney village which has lots of eating places. She is happier now she is away from the crowds and on her way back to the coach but cannot decide what she wants to eat so we end up going to the shop in the railway station to buy some baguettes and crisps. They do a Bolognaise flavour crisp and Daisy can remember having them before and likes them.

Back at the coach it is 40 degrees inside the saloon so I run the engine for a little while to bring the temperature down and Daisy and I sit in the shade of the luggage locker.

We enjoy our little dinner together and she loves it when I pour water over her hot feet.

About half the coach are back at 20:00 including Wendy and Sophie and I take them back to the hotel. Wendy, Sophie and Daisy go off to the McDonalds that is located close to the hotel and I drive back to Disney.

The rest of the group are back by eleven but miss the firework display as it has been put back to eleven!
