Disneyland Paris Sunday 12 August 2012

Sunday 12 August

They must have fixed the problem (or paid the bill!) as we are back in the groups room for breakfast. There are six coach loads in the hotel and we are having our breakfast at 08:30, the last of the groups.

I walk in only to find tables free but cluttered up with the remains of breakfast and four large tables of ten with their chairs resting on the table. I go to sit here and am told they can’t be used as they are for later! I am not impressed as there are 40 seats and we are supposed to sit at tables that haven’t been cleared. Adding to this the man I spoke to starts to clear the tables but very very slowly as if to antagonise me. He is doing a good job as it is working!
I sit down at a cleared place and to have a coffee I have a plastic cup on the table which I then take to the machine. The machine is empty and I have to ask for it to be filled. Here we go again!
The basket for croissants is empty with no sign of it being filled.
The buffet is nowhere near the standard of downstairs with no cheese or cold meats and when I ask for some butter am told I have to go downstairs!
I do indeed go downstairs, straight to the manager and voice my dissatisfaction. He comes up to the breakfast room and we are told we can use the seating I was told we couldn’t, he arranges for some butter to be brought and goes off for the croissant himself.
Not good at all and a definite step back to the dark days of them and us breakfasts. I am not accepting this and if I return next year will insist, and pay the extra, on breakfast in the restaurant.
Not a great start to the day but things improve after we depart at 09:30 and drive to Paris.

August is always a good time to go to Paris as the Parisians are all on holiday so leaving the roads clear.

I manage to show the passengers most of the sights of Paris before arriving at the Eiffel Tower and parking up until 13:00, hopefully allowing enough time to visit the top of the Tower if they want to.
Most of my group go off except Hollie, Daisy and Sophie who stay with me. We go for a walk where the girls buy souvenirs and presents and then we come across a lovely looking Boulangerie where we buy baguettes, cakes, pastries and a slice of pizza for Daisy. Enough for us all when they return.

We are a little late leaving Paris but I had allowed for that and it doesn’t cause me any problems. The journey back to Paris is exactly the same as the way down but in reverse and we arrive in plenty of time for our 19:06 shuttle.

I have really enjoyed this weekend and apart from the this morning’s breakfast it has all gone well and I hope everybody has enjoyed themselves. It is hard work being on your feet all day in the hote sun but Disney does have a certain magic about it.

Maybe we will stay an extra night next year and have two days in Disney.

I have always wanted to go to Disneyland and Paris so bad. This blog gave me an idea and also the feel of going there. Thanks for posting.
